Autor analizie poddaje kolejne pojęcia związane z afektem wstydu (bezwstyd, wstydliwość, zawstydzanie) i łączy je z kulturą wstydu, kulturą winy, bezwstydną polityką, zawstydzaniem innych, dokonując przy tym erudycyjnego przeglądu najważniejszych dzieł z historii filozofii, literatury i psychologii, pozwalających na rozpoznanie kategorii wstydu z różnych punktów widzenia.

The author analyses other terms related to the feeling of shame (shamelessness, shamefulness, shaming) and links them to the culture of shame, the culture of guilt, shameless politics and the shaming of others, providing a knowledgeable overview of the most important works in the history of philosophy, literature and psychology, which enable the category of shame to be viewed from different perspectives.

Der Autor analysiert weitere Begriffe im Zusammenhang mit dem Gefühl der Scham (Schamlosigkeit, Schamhaftigkeit, Beschämung) und verbindet sie mit der Kultur der Scham, der Kultur der Schuld, der schamlosen Politik und der Fremdschämung, wobei er einen kenntnisreichen Überblick über die wichtigsten Werke der Philosophie-, Literatur- und Psychologiegeschichte gibt, die es ermöglichen, die Kategorie der Scham aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln zu betrachten.
