W artykule podjęto próbę analizy sfery doświadczeń życia szkolnego ucznia i nauczyciela, pozostających z dala od Ojczyzny w wyniku rozgrywających się działań wojennych po 1939 roku. Tłem historycznych wydarzeń stają się akcje deportacyjne ludności polskiej po 17 września 1939 r. w głąb ZSRS, następnie ewakuacja żołnierzy i cywilów na Bliski i Środkowy Wschód. Autorka w swych rozważaniach podkreśla, iż wraz z potrzebą pomocy zdrowotnej i materialnej koresponduje tu konieczność sprawowania opieki kulturalno-oświatowej i kształcenia dzieci i młodzieży, przebywających nie z własnej woli poza granicami Kraju. Kontekst traumatycznych doświadczeń, wyniesionych z czasów zawieruchy wojennej, staje się pretekstem do włączenia (poprzez eksplorację wspomnień uczniów i nauczycieli) w dyskusję o współczesny model edukacji, wychowania rozumianych jako spotkanie ucznia i nauczyciela w wymiarze wzajemnego uczenia się, personalizacji działań i pedagogiki współbycia. Ten nurt pedagogiki, zdaniem autorki, podkreśla znaczenie współpracy i życzliwej przestrzeni interpersonalnej, zarówno w odniesieniu do idei szkolnictwa na obczyźnie, jak też współczesnych dociekań pedagogicznych, efektem czego zdaje się wspólna trajektornia nauczyciela–mistrza i ucznia, którym przysługuje sztuka bycia człowiekiem.

The article is an attempt to analyze the school experiences of students and teachers living far from their home country – Poland as a result of military/war activities taking place after 1939. The deportation actions of the Polish population deep into the Union of Soviet Socialistic Republics after September 17, 1939 and then the evacuation of soldiers and civilians to the Near and Middle East became the background of historical events. The author emphasizes that the need for health and financial support corresponds to the necessity of providing cultural and educational care for the children and teenagers who were forced to stay outside their country. The context of traumatic experiences resulting from war times serves as a reason for including (through the exploration of students’ and teachers’ memories) such notions as personalization of action and pedagogy of coexistence into the discussion about the modern model of education perceived as an encounter between the student and the teacher within the sphere of mutual education. In the author’s opinion this pedagogical trend highlights the importance of cooperation and kind interpersonal space with reference to both the idea of education in exile and the current educational investigations. The effect of that is the mutual trajectory of the teacher as a master and the student who exercise the art of being a human.
