Artykuł „Polesie i Poleszucy według Antoniego Ferdynanda Ossendowskiego. Relacja człowiek – przestrzeń” przedstawia sposób ujęcia przestrzeni Polesia i egzystencji Poleszuków jako mieszkańców tego obszaru przez Ossendowskiego – jednego z najpopularniejszych pisarzy dwudziestolecia międzywojennego. Kontekstem rozważań uczyniono zarówno publikacje z okresu międzywojnia, jak i współczesne artykuły i przewodniki po Polesiu. W pracy podkreślono intencje autora „Polesia”, polegające na wykreowaniu przestrzeni opisywanego obszaru jako terytorium do skolonizowania przez Polaków, pełniącego funkcję naturalnej bariery dla Rosji sowieckiej. Zaprezentowano sposób kreacji przestrzeni Polesia jako podmiotu i absolutu dominującego nad człowiekiem – użytkownikiem tego regionu. Wskazano kilka aspektów życia Poleszuków zdeterminowanych przez środowisko, w jakim egzystują.

The article „Polesie and Polesians according to Anthony Ferdinand Ossendovsky. The relationship between man and space” presents the way in which Ossendowski, one of the most popular writers of the interwar period, approaches the space of Polesie and the existence of Polesians as inhabitants of this area. The context of the considerations is provided by publications from the interwar period as well as contemporary articles and guides to Polesie. The work emphasizes the intentions of the author of „Polesie” to create the space of the described area as a territory to be assimilated, acculturated and civilised by Poles, acting as a natural barrier to Soviet Russia. The article presents the way in which the space of Polesie is created as a subject and an absolute, dominating over man – the user of this region. It also indicates several aspects of the life of Polesians determined by the environment in which they exist.
