[Abstract = "The aim of the research was to know about taking part in physical activity by the blind and visually impaired and the preferred forms of movement. The study subject to the elements such as time, frequency, type, form and space undertaken physical activity. The research was conducted in Szczecin among people with sight dysfunction, associated in the West Pomeranian District of the Polish Association of the Blind – 81 people were covered (41 – children and adolescents, 40 – adults). Each participant gave their consent to participate in the research. The research method was a diagnostic survey using the original questionnaire. The research shows that, despite barriers and obstacles which are encountered by visually disabled people, they strive to achieve and maintain their fitness. The obtained results prove that this is possible provided that properly trained instructors and sports trainers are involved and equipment, fitness clubs, gyms etc. are adapted to the needs of people with this type of disability."]
