[Abstract = %22After WW2 was over %281945%29 wrestling in %C5%81%C3%B3dzkie voivodeship revived first in its capital%2C the city of %C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA%2C and then other wrestling sections in Pabianice%2C Zgierz%2C Piotrk%C3%B3w Trybunalski and Sieradz followed. The athletes of %C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA participated in the national competitions in 1946. It was the classic style championships in Lodz. It was then when the %C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA wrestlers won their first champion titles. The biggest success%2C however%2C was won by the free style athletes. It is them who in 1945%E2%80%931999 won 129 medals %2843 gold ones%29 out of 151 %2846 gold ones%29 won by all the wrestlers from %C5%81%C3%B3dzkie voivodeship. Free style athletes were also the only representatives in the most important competitions%2C like European championships%2C world championships and the Olympics. The most dominant sections%2C among others until 1990%2C were %E2%80%9CBudowlani%E2%80%9D %C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA%2C %E2%80%9CBoruta%E2%80%9D Zgierz and %C5%81KS. The highest athletic level was represented by Pawe%C5%82 Kurczewski%2C Tomasz Busse%2C Les%C5%82aw Kropp and Jan Wypiorczyk.%22]
